Simon Van Geel (Belgium, 1993), is a photographer/visual artist based in Ghent (BE). He’s best known for his documentary photography. His interests lies in recording the proximity and traces of human kind and what influence they’ve on our landscape. His work also focusses on the banality/everydayness of our society, sometimes with a humorous undertone.
In 2016 he received his bachelor degree in Fine Arts in Photography at the Karel de Grote-Hogeschool in Antwerp. After he obtained his bachelor degree he applied for the bridging program at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent. Currently he has finished his Master in photography.
